Raicar takes out junior chess

GAURAV Raicar of University of South Pacific took out top honours in the 2010 Fiji Chess Federation National Junior Championship at the Pasifika Campus on Sunday. Raicar also qualified for the 2010 Fiji National Chess Championship.

FMF 2010 Chess Championship

The Flour Mill of Fiji 2010 National Junior Chess Championships are set to be held on Sunday 22nd August at the Pasifika Campus in Suva.

2010 Rajnesh Parmeshwar Memorial Open

The 2010 Rajnesh Parmeshwar Memorial Open Chess Championships will be held on Sunday 11th July 2010 at the Fiji School of Medicine Pasifika Campus, Extension Street, Suva.

This eighth edition of the memorial event celebrates the chessing achievements of Fiji Chess prodigy Rajnesh Parmeshwar, a very promising dynamic young player, who was Fiji's first representative to the Oceania Zonal Chess Championships on Australia's Gold Coast in 1999 and was well on his way to a successful international career.

23rd Mohammed Badshah Open

Fiji Times - 11/05/10 

THE 23rd Mohammed Badshah Memorial Open Chess Championship will be played in Suva on May 22.

The tournament, to be held at the Fiji School of Medicine Pasifika Campus, is expected to see the best chess players from around the country converge in the capital.

Student Singh tops chess championship

A NEW champion was unveiled in the secondary division of the Fiji Schools Chess Championship at Pasifika Campus in Suva yesterday.

Mahatma Gandhi High School (MGM) Form Six student Asrit Singh defeated top bet Hilda Areki of Saint Joseph's Secondary School to win top honours.

Tournament coordinator Manoj Kumar was happy with the turnout and the standard of competition during the annual event.

RESULTS: 2010 Brijlal Open

FIJI'S number one Manoj Kumar took out the 27th Brijlal Open Chess Championship at the Fiji Olympic House yesterday.

It was sweet revenge for Kumar, who dethroned defending champion and fellow candidate master Calvin Prasad after the latter took away the former's Kundan Singh Open title in a previous tournament last month.
