Grand Prix 2008
The Grand Prix points awarded will be First (20), Second (15), Third (12), Fourth (9), Fifth (7), Sixth (5), Seventh (4), Eighth (3), Ninth (2), Tenth (1). In case of a tie in score in tournaments, the Grand Prix points will be shared.

 This years event promised to be the biggest local event til date. With an enormous prize fund, this tournament not only attracted the biggest names in local chess but two Australian IMs as well. Gautam wins Fiji Tertiary Games title
University of the South Pacific scholar defending champion Asheesh Gautam made it back to back titles in the Fiji Tertiary Games on Friday 12th October 2007. With the tournament being peak of competition between the tertiary institutions, Gautam managed to defeat his Fiji School of Medicine finalist to claim first place.
