The 2009 Oceania Zonal Chess Championhips were held at the Twin Towers Resort on Gold Coast, Australia from the 20-26 June. The event was a World Championships qualifier and thus the field for the championships was the largest in the region and expected to be a challenge for our local qualifiers. More

The Grand Prix points awarded will be First (20), Second (15), Third (12), Fourth (9), Fifth (7), Sixth (5), Seventh (4), Eighth (3), Ninth (2), Tenth (1). In case of a tie in score in tournaments, the Grand Prix points will be shared. For the purpose of tallying Grand Prix points, a players' top 5 tournament points will be added.
