The 2010 Rajnesh Parmeshwar Memorial Open Chess Championships will be held on Sunday 11th July 2010 at the Fiji School of Medicine Pasifika Campus, Extension Street, Suva.
This eighth edition of the memorial event celebrates the chessing achievements of Fiji Chess prodigy Rajnesh Parmeshwar, a very promising dynamic young player, who was Fiji's first representative to the Oceania Zonal Chess Championships on Australia's Gold Coast in 1999 and was well on his way to a successful international career.
National Champion CM Manoj Kumar is out defend his title at the 19th Kundan Singh Open Chess Championships to be held on Sunday 21st February 2010 in Suva.
Schoolteacher Kumar has confirmed participation in the tournament where he anticipates several challenges in his path to reclaim the title. CM Calvin Prasad will lead the other contenders along with Dr Neel Arora and Goru Arvind.
The Courts HomeCentres Open Chess Championship is back and will be played this Saturday at the Fiji Olympic House in Suva.
