Chess face-off, Prasad up for it

TOP chess contender Calvin Prasad is upbeat to win the 19th Kundan Singh Open Chess championship for the first time after three years on Sunday.

Prasad will face the challenge from defending champion Manoj Kumar, veteran Gloria Sukhu and Aditi Sharan.

Kumar is favoured to defend his title, however, Prasad said he wanted to start the season on a high note.

Krishneel continues to solve the puzzle

The Lakeba, Lau lass was honoured with the President's Award after Saturday's annual general meeting in Suva.

Chess re-elects De Asa

Dr. Virgilio De Asa has been re-elected as the president of the Fiji Chess Federation during their Annual General Meeting yesterday at the FASANOC house.

De Asa’s re-appointment made him the longest serving chess president in the country having served at the position for the last 15 years.

Kumar retains Blitz title
